It seems that over the years the idea of policing has shifted from protection and law enforcement to punishment. It seems that people have accepted the notion that police are there to punish offenders and what does that lead us to? How about these two recent cases of Abuse in Canada our supposedly civil and peaceful country. One is in Quebec and one is near my home town. Do these look like law enforcement or punishment? People will say that the offenders angered the police and that acting as they did was only human but sorry you as an officer of the law are called to be more than human that is what should make you great not the muscles in your arms or the guns on your belts.
