Truly Inspirational

Kathleen Parker, a conservative pundit now says “If BS were currency, Palin could bail out Wall Street herself,” Parker also writes. “If Palin were a man, we’d all be guffawing, just as we do every time Joe Biden tickles the back of his throat with his toes. But because she’s a woman — and the first ever on a Republican presidential ticket — we are reluctant to say what is painfully true.”

CNN is reporting that former Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee “said Friday the John McCain made a ‘huge mistake’ by even floating the possibility he would not appear at the first presidential debate as planned.”

What was that about Rats abandoning a sinking ship? (-:

  1. Bill, I happen to agree on the point – somewhat – with you and Kathleen Parker [yes, I read her piece] but disagree with you both a little over the cause and a lot on the cure.

In my view the governor shows signs of “over-briefing” and “over-control”. His advisers should just fill her in and let her sink or swim on her own. They are obviously scared she will say certain words. She is trying too hard to “parse” her answers, and that’s causing the “awkwardness” we’re sometimes seeing. It is, after all, an awkward situation.

To her credit, in my view, she’s resisting the temptation to ramble on and on by “restating” her answers. She’s just repeating them. That’s not totally a bad thing. But she should be free to make that point to the interviewer, too, imo, and currently she’s keeping her verbal gloves on – and as a result looking ill-prepared and a trifle weak. That likely frustrates her.

They chose her. Do us the favor of letting us hear her real words and make up our own minds, I say. She might make more sense than they think!

    Cheers
