CTV reported that a study by two nonprofit journalism organizations found that the current American presidential administration”[was] part of an orchestrated campaign that effectively galvanized public opinion and, in the process, led the nation to war under decidedly false pretenses.” One study totalled the number of false statements between 9/11 and the Iraq war and counted 935 false statements in the two-year period.
In the comments section all but one person said the equivalent of “DUH ! No freaking kidding!”
There was one guy however that noted;
A study done by ‘journalism organizations’ should be taken with a grain of salt. They have an axe to grind especially while an election is going on. Wonder if Dan Rather and his cohorts were involved?
I was so itching to respond to this one but CTV shut off the comments after this point. (An unusually small number of comments were allowed)
So as not to waste a good come back……..
To Ian – Just who really wags the dog ? Bush and his cronies used the media, and now as you noted it’s election time, what do you expect the media to do? It does not change the fact that what they said was TRUE.
