Meteorite fireballs
I haven’t given much thought to this because it happened so many years ago but the recent meteor strike in Russia brought it to mind.
When I was a kid, Mike Mansfield and I (and a couple other village brats) were playing on our street when we heard a funny crakling buzzing noise and looked up and saw a fireball streak across the sky which was odd as it was an over cast day and the fireball was below the clouds.
I can remember the look of it, the sound the colour and even the exact trajectory but not the date.
Just out of curiousity anyone else happen to recall this from the 1970s (Southern Ontario in Angus)?
