The Words of a Spiritually Blind Judaiser Don’t Include Justifiable Mocking and Sarcasm

Normally I don’t participate in bashing another Blogger. Wisdom dictates that all have the right to speak and be heard. The problem is when the other party spreads hate.

I know of one blogger that has eleven blogs all for the sole purpose of spreading his idea of Christianity and ridiculing any other form of Christianity than his own. He admittedly teaches his form of Christianity lays it out fully with all its good and bad elements for the world to see, and this is his right, but when it comes to other religions he uses words like;

legalistic cult
Grace killers
religionists
Graceless
plagiarisers
evil cults
Judaisers
blasphemous
sinners
blaspheming legalists
arrogant affrontery
perverted gospel
a spiritual house of the Devil!
idolatry and deception
Jews and Islamists worship the devil
etc….

He use these terms and nasty twisted insults like “Peter was made pope and the cow jumped over the moon! I wonder if he wore one of those silly hats, sold eternal life and opened a Swiss bank account?” calling it all “Justifiable mocking and sarcasm .“

And being a good and tolerant person I read all this crap and say nothing, because I believe he has the right to his opinions. But unfortunately I lost my temper at him once and that ridicule and trash talk was turned on me the “spiritually blind Judaisers” who needs to “repent. “ and all this was done on a Jewish Blog as he was saying that “Jews and Islamics believe in one god and there is only one singular god and that god is the Devil.”

I must admit I did say his type were narrow minded intolerant, inflexible, ignorant, hateful, and most offensively the worst salesmen of Christianity on the planet, for which I should apologise even if I still think it to be true.

But rather than engage him and read his vitriolic responses, I thought I would take just one concept key to his form of debate and show how it separates him from the Christianity he claims to be preaching (As he thinks my faith which includes jews, separates me from Christianity) . There is as far as I can see in any scripture no defence for “Justifiable mocking and sarcasm .“

When we preach the word of Christ how are we to do it? The way he calls us to live.

So what altitudes are we to adopt?

The beatitudes are found at Matthew 5: 3-12

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they who mourn,
for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek,
for they shall possess the earth.

Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for justice,
for they shall be satisfied.

Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure of heart,
for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called sons of God.

Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice sake,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Does any one of these altitudes lead to a demeanor that could mock or ridicule ones enemies?

Before we open our mouths we should know how we are to speak or write and certainly how we should treat others.

So as I am sure this person will track down this posting my final words are live as Christ asks us to live, don’t mock your enemies and bring ridicule on the Christian faith.

I tend to ignore the ones who bring no thought into their faith (the Sermon on the Mount is all about how we ought to think as that leads to the actions we do), so I’m impressed with your stamina to take one on.

Philip Yancey was brought up within that kind of doctrine and came to understand later in life what Christianity is supposed to be like. His book Soul Survivor is an interesting look at where he started and why he still is a Christian. As he illustrates, there is hope in changing a bigot’s mind.

One might refer him to 1Pe. 3:15-16, “… always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect ….”

But I suspect you’re attempting to reason with someone who’s a few cards short of a full deck.

Bill, sorry I’m late to the fray. IMHO any person failing to respect the sincerity of another’s “beliefs”, even though ‘violently’ disagreeing with them, is not really a suitable candidate for further communication.

The verbal sticks and stones your “acquaintance” so readily seems to throw around reflects not only the insufficiency of his intellect, but the inadequacy of his vocabulary.

Instead of being a ‘Christian’, he sounds more like a bible-reading twit. But there I am being judgemental again, so pretend I didn’t say that.

    Cheers
